About: Pride is a yearly celebration of LGBTQ+ that takes over the cities greatest spaces. The 2 day event includes a city-wide march, live music and activities. Liverpool’s LBGTQ+ venues get involved, stay open longer and wider city venues serve rainbow wine to celebrate. 2018 saw the biggest and best event yet, with 10,000 people marching through the city.

Music: Liverpool International Music Festival
When: 20th-21st July 2019
Where: Sefton Park
From Airport: 17 mins drive/ 44 mins public transport
About: The line up is top secret so far! Previous years have hosted incredible live performers, dance-inducing DJs, as well as fun activities for the family. Get your summer sorted early and join the celebrations. “Epic” doesn’t even cover it…

Cultural: Liverpool’s Philharmonic Orchestra

About: The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra gives over 80 concerts each season since their founding year in 1840. Treat your ears to the mellow sounds and sticatos of the centre of Liverpool classical music culture.

Charity: Rock’n’Roll Liverpool Marathon 2019
When: 25-26th May 2019
Where: Albert Dock, on the Liverpool Waterfront
Distance from Airport: 32 mins by car, 55 mins by public transport
About: This is one the biggest and most-fun marathons you can have. And it’s happening right here in Liverpool! Time to dress up as your favourite characters and get raising money for local causes. It’s available to international registrants and is partnered with marathons as far away as Chicago, USA!
Book your place, sponsor or simply turn up and cheer the runners on with the Rock’N’Roll Marathon, Liverpool.
Something Different: British Musical Fireworks Championship
When: Late September (Date TBC)
Where: Victoria Park, Rotten Row, Southport, Merseyside, PR8 2BZ
Distance from the airport: 50 mins drive, 1 hr 40 by public transport
About: Over three nights in September, seven competitors battle it out to be crowned the ultimate winner of the British Musical Fireworks Championship. Join the festivities in Victoria Park, Liverpool. An array of light and a mixture of music, from oldies to chart hits – this is a really good family event which will have you saying “oh” and “ah” and dancing the night away. Enjoy some of the most spectacular fireworks you will ever see.

For something super local: Beatleweek

Where: Across the area at music venues including Adelphi Hotel, Casbah and The Cavern Club.
Distance from Airport: Varies depending on which venues you go to. We recommend leaving at least 30 mins by car for the nearest venues.
About: Cavern City Tours is proud to bring you the annual International Beatleweek Festival, which celebrates the music of the incredible Beatles. There’s loads to see and do to celebrate this hub of local music and Beatlemania. This is truly an international event with 70 bands from over 20 countries and fans from over 40.
