£3 million improvement works at Liverpool Airport

The latest phase of improvement works at Liverpool John Lennon Airport have been completed recently, as part of the £3 million investment which has been implemented over the last 9 months.

New retail spaces have been opened with the likes of Dixons and Accessorize moving in, offering goods at tax free prices, 20% less than on the High Street. Meanwhile Cabin Bar and Ritazza coffee shop added to the eating outlets amongst others.

Commenting on the works Lucy O’Shaughnessy, Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s commercial director said: “Previous investments in a number of passenger facilities at the Airport have seen our customer satisfaction levels reach an all-time high.“We believe these latest improvements have created a real ‘wow factor’ for passengers as we welcome them into the Departure Lounge, building on existing positive passenger feedback and further enhancing the customer experience.” Approximately 2,000sqm of upper airport departure lounge space has also seen a great refurbishment and upgrade. Washrooms and new seating and lighting have been added, while improvements to larger flight information screens have been made. A further £2 million is expected to be spent on improving the terminal later on in the year, with plans to expand and redesign the existing World Duty Free shop. The changes come as a crucial benefit to LJLA as it battled a highly anticipated bank holiday weekend with an expected 70,000 passengers to use the airport over the weekend.
